Turning an Entrepreneurial Dream into a Unique Dining Experience with Amazon Business
Devil's Burger is an anime-themed restaurant founded by Anikir in Tinsukia, Assam. The idea for the restaurant began while he was studying at a university in Noida, where he was inspired by stories of young entrepreneurs who started businesses during their college years.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Anikir identified a gap in the food market back home. At that time, there were very few burger outlets in Tinsukia, and cuisines like Japanese and Korean were largely unfamiliar to the local audience.
With a small investment and a bold idea, he started Devil's Burger as a compact cloud-kitchen setup with just a few tables and online delivery. The vision was to create something completely different for the city—an anime-inspired space serving Japanese, Korean, and American fusion food that would attract students, families, and anime fans alike.
Building such a unique restaurant concept in a smaller city came with its share of challenges.
Most of the ingredients required for the menu were not available locally. Nearly 80% of the items used in their recipes had to be sourced from outside the city. Specialty ingredients like sushi sheets and materials for international dishes were difficult to find in nearby markets.
Creating the anime-themed atmosphere was another challenge. Decorative elements, themed lighting, and other accessories that could bring the restaurant’s concept to life were simply not available in Tinsukia.
Even kitchen equipment posed a hurdle. Products like butter rollers, deep fryers, and taiyaki makers were not easy to procure from local vendors. Orders often required long waiting times and came with higher delivery costs.
For a young entrepreneur trying to build something new, finding reliable vendors and sourcing the right products became one of the biggest obstacles in running the business smoothly.
This is where Amazon Business became a game changer for Devil's Burger.
With Amazon Business, sourcing products for the restaurant became simple and efficient. From décor items like lights, books, and even a foosball table to kitchen equipment such as electric deep fryers and taiyaki makers, everything could be ordered easily in just a few clicks.
For Anikir and his team, the ability to browse through multiple brands and product options on one platform helped them experiment and choose the right ingredients and equipment for their kitchen. Even specialized items like sushi sheets could be compared and selected based on quality and suitability for their recipes.
Despite being located in a remote city like Tinsukia, many products were delivered within just a few days—something that local vendors often struggled to match.
As the restaurant expanded its menu with items like bubble tea and matcha lattes, Amazon Business also enabled bulk purchasing options, helping reduce costs and maintain a steady supply of ingredients.
Today, Amazon Business continues to support the growth of Devil's Burger by making procurement easier, faster, and more reliable—allowing the team to focus on creating a unique dining experience for their customers.
